An evening after the school

Raghu was intelligent, brave and stubborn. He was studying his final year in the school at the age of 15. He was smart and active. He was liked by many of the teachers in the school, especially by Mr. Nagesh sir- The Head Master of the school. This school was not so big, a small one with two stories one boarding room for boys and one for girls. Mr. Nagesh was a cool guy with good looks and with an excellent smile on his face, he makes the speaker interest in him most. Mr. Nagesh had a wife and two daughters Soni and Sweety. Soni was eight years old and Sweety was just two years old. His home was not so far from the school. Just a ten minute walk. Nagesh also had a daughter Clare five year old who was admitted in a hospital. Nagesh got so depressed about his daughter. She had a major heart problem, doctors were trying their best they could possibly do. Nagesh didn't inform this to many of the staff and the students. Raghu also didn't know about her. Raghu will be there in the school in the school hours as well as in the tuition hours after the school.


One day, after the school during tuition hours, Soni got a small stomach problem. may be due to some bad food Nagesh thought. He had some huge work in the school. Nagesh didn't worry about her too much. He wanted to give her some rest. Every class is filled with the students, he searched for an empty room but couldn't find one. He thought of the boarding room of girls but it was so dirty and felt it unhygienic. Also there were some rooms behind the main building but their roofs were covered with tiles and it is very hot inside. Nagesh took her there. He wanted her to sleep there under the fan for sometime so that she would feel fine herself. But she still felt sick. One may think why Nagesh didn't take her home which was so near.
Meanwhile Nagesh had some urgent work in the office. He told Soni to go home and went to the office.


Soni started walking home. The school is located in the outskirts of the town. She stepped outside the school. The blue skies slowly began turning dark. She was the only one in the way. She had to along the road to get to her home. One side of the road there were barren red-soil lands. And on the other side there were two or three houses and a railway track far away through the melancholic barren lands. The road was not properly constructed. It was not made of tar. There were sone stones on the road that came out of the laid road. The road on the both sides is covered by thorny bushes and some trees here and there which open into the barren lands. Soni was standing there looking at the sky as it got filled with very dark clouds. She saw some girl standing on the road not so far from her. She yelled at her for a response. As she turned back, Soni realised that it was Clare. She was so happy to see her there. She couldn't think how could a girl admitted in the hospital be there alone on a deserted road. Soni began running towards Clare. Her foot were hurt a bit because of the stones. She didn't mind that. She gave her a hug. Clare was looking so strange and she didn't utter a word. "I missed you a lot", Soni told her. They started walking home.

Raghu was there standing outside the office waiting for Mr.Nagesh. He had some doubt in his subject. On the way to the office from the room, Nagesh thought of Soni. He went back back again to the room. She already left. He went to the office to find someone who could go along with her. All the workers asked for a leave that day. He was glad when he saw Raghu there. Nagesh asked him to go and drop Soni at the house. He also told how she was feeling. Raghu agreed and left.

Raghu began running as he came out of the office. He couldn't see her in the school and therefore went outside.


He noticed that it was getting darker so early. So strange, eh? He ran towards them. Suddenly something strange happened. Huge winds began to blow. They are half way away from the school to their house. The thick bushes and the huge trees began shedding their branches. The power was gone. The trees covered the very little light that was there at that time. Raghu began to worry a bit. He was worried about the little girl who seemed to be more sick than Soni. He also noticed that Clare was looking so strange. Not even uttered a word when he talked to her. "Has she become numb?", Raghu asked Soni. "She is just worried", Soni replied. "Worried! About what?",Raghu thought. Raghu didn't bother her asking again. There was not much response he got. They couldn't walk any longer. No light. Huge wind. The bushes were thorny. Thrones were there all over. He was so afraid of if any storm sort to come by. He didn't know what to do? What to do with two of these with him? His mind became blank. He can't move forward nor back to the school.


Suddenly he noticed a small light on the road coming from a small gap in the bushes beside the road. He went there and peeped through the small gap. He could see the other side of the road. Surprisingly, it was quite on the other side. He had glasses on his eyes. So little dust went into his eyes. He asked the girls to close the eyes. But Clare didn't. She felt nothing. Raghu wondered. The opening was so small that he might not fit into that. He asked the girls to go. He somehow managed Soni to go out. Clare easily went through. Slowly the winds began to slow down. He managed himself to get out with some scratches on the limbs. It was dark outside this time. They took them and began running before it got worse. He somehow reached the house. But he couldn't find Clare along with him. He asked Soni where Clare had gone. She had no idea. He rang the visitor bell outside the house. No one responded for a second.


Then a minute later madam came from the house weeping. "Why what happened?", He asked her. Within seconds Nagesh was also there. He came there in the school bus. Some other teachers were also there. They both started crying. Raghu couldn't understand what was happening there.

Then Nagesh informed him that Clare was dead an hour ago.
